How to get your company cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews

To get cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, first let their search crawlers in: Googlebot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Claude-SearchBot, with every word in the server-rendered HTML. Then publish pages that answer buyer questions directly, with sourced numbers, tables and plain definitions. Keep your company name and description identical everywhere, earn real mentions on pages these tools already cite, and track impressions, citations and AI referrals every month.

GEO vs AEO vs SEO: what is actually different

SEO earns rankings and clicks in search results. AEO (answer engine optimization) shapes pages so a search feature or assistant can lift a direct answer. GEO (generative engine optimization) aims to get your content retrieved and cited inside AI-written answers in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. Most of the work is shared, and Google says optimizing for its AI features is still SEO. What differs is the scoreboard, the query shape and the weight of off-site mentions.

AI agents vs workflow automation vs chatbots: how to pick

Use workflow automation when you can write every step and every rule before the work arrives. Add an AI step inside that workflow when one step needs to read language, such as sorting an email or pulling fields from a PDF. Use a chatbot or assistant when people need answers from your documents. Use an AI agent only when the path cannot be drawn in advance and the work needs several tool calls with judgment between them.

n8n vs Make vs Zapier: choosing an automation platform in 2026

Pick Zapier when non-technical staff will build and own short automations across many SaaS apps. Pick Make when an operations lead builds branching, data-heavy scenarios and watches cost per step. Pick n8n when you have technical help, run long or high-volume workflows, or need to self-host, because it bills per workflow run instead of per step. We checked every price below on the vendors' sites on October 28, 2026.

How to build a company knowledge assistant that cites its sources

A company knowledge assistant uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG): it searches your approved documents, hands the best passages to a language model, and answers with links to the passages it used. Most of the work is document preparation, permissions and testing, not the model. Plan on 5 to 7 weeks for one well-kept source, 8 to 12 weeks for several sources with permissions, and $15,000 to $75,000 to build, with hosting and model usage on top.

AI readiness assessment: the checklist we use and how to score it

An AI readiness assessment checks whether a company can start an AI build in the next 90 days without wasting the budget. Ours scores 25 checks from 0 to 2 across 5 areas: strategy and ownership, data, systems, people, and risk. A total of 20 to 34 out of 50 supports one contained pilot. Below 20, fix ownership and baselines first. Any area under 4 out of 10 caps you at a pilot.

How to measure the ROI of AI automation, running costs included

To calculate the ROI of AI automation, measure the baseline before you build, then compare 12 months of benefit with the one-time cost plus 12 months of running costs. Count hard savings, freed capacity and new revenue as separate lines. Include model usage, platform fees, monitoring and human review time. Report payback in months next to the percentage, and always show the cash-only figure as well.

Fractional chief AI officer: what the role covers and what it costs

A fractional chief AI officer is a senior leader who owns your AI decisions on a part-time retainer, usually 1 to 3 days a week or a few days a month. They set priorities, review vendors and spend, write the rules for staff use and get the first workflow into production. Public 2026 retainers run from $3,000 to over $30,000 a month; ours run $4,000 to $15,000. Hire one when AI decisions pile up and nobody senior owns them.

AI acceptable use policy template for employees

An AI acceptable use policy tells staff which AI tools they may use, which data may go into them, what a person must check and what must be disclosed. The template on this page covers those rules in 12 short clauses you can adapt today. Pair it with approved business accounts, because a policy that only bans pushes use onto personal accounts you cannot see. It is a starting point, not legal advice.
